Please join us for a Friends of Pisgah fall foliage hike on Friday, October 16th, 2026. Led by FOP’s Ray Dunn and Jack Kondos. We’ll make a 4 mile loop, leaving Horseshoe trailhead and visiting Lily Pond and Merganser Point. In addition to admiring the fall colors, we will investigate large glacial erratics and a newly created beaver backwater. A few historical incidents that took place at Lily Pond in the 1800’s will be shared. The route will take us south on the Old Chesterfield road, then west along the Lily Pond trail and if time remains, return along the Habitat trail. For this intermediate-level hike, pack water, snacks and boots appropriate for rugged terrain. We will depart from the Horseshoe Road trailhead in Chesterfield, NH at 9:30 a.m.
